English language
The English language is a weird mixture of Old English and Norman French, with some influence from languages spoken by other people who played important roles in developing religious traditions adopted by the British, took over parts of the British Isles, and colonized land near British colonies.
Today, it is the lingua franca, which literally means "Frankish language". It became the lingua franca after UnAmerica won the second World War for England. As a result, it is now exerting an influence on many other languages. Modern Hindi and Urdu even sound like they are alternating between themselves and English. If trends continue, according to the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, then eventually everyone in the world will think like an Englishman (maybe this was what the Hindus were thinking of when they predicted the Kali Yuga).
